Church family,

It is with great sadness that we share that our dear friend and brother in Christ, Brian Evison, passed away suddenly and peacefully this morning (Thursday, August 6)

Brian has been a faithful, steady friend and presence in our church family since Accelerate began. As one of our founding members, he has been part of the fabric of our church from the very beginning. We know he will be deeply missed in so many ways.

While our hearts are heavy and in shock at this sudden loss, we are also comforted by the sure hope we have in Jesus. Brian is now experiencing a glorious reunion with his Saviour and the saints who have gone before him. Yet we also know that Jesus is well acquainted with grief and is close to the brokenhearted.

Please join us in covering Brian’s son Denis, his daughter Sally-Ann, and their families in prayer as they walk through this season of loss. Pray that they would know God’s peace, comfort, strength, and His loving presence in every moment.

We will share further details regarding Brian’s Celebration of Life service as we receive them from the family.

In the meantime, we kindly ask that you don’t share this news publicly or on social media just yet, as we want to honour Brian's family and follow their lead. The greatest thing we can do right now is surround them with our prayers and support.
